Car rental in Oslo

GENERAL

Customers are always covered by the right to complain in accordance with Norwegian law. All complaints must be submitted via our complaints portal, where you will be guided through the form.

You can only register one complaint at a time, and if you have several complaints, these must be submitted separately. You can find the link to the portal here: Complaints portal.

Prices include VAT and apply in Norway. Fuel and tolls are additional.

The car is picked up and returned to the same rental location unless otherwise agreed. A rental day is 24 hours. Cancellation must be made at least 24 hours before the agreed delivery time.

Rental is paid in advance per day/month. Companies with approved credit checks may have up to 45 days to pay.

The rental includes the mileage specified in the contract. The price always includes a replacement car for servicing, tyre changes, etc. – applies to long-term rentals.

The deposit varies from NOK 5,000 to NOK 20,000 depending on the type of car and rental period.

The renter may drive the car in Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Outside these countries, written permission is required, and there is a fee of NOK 1,250 incl. VAT for the first 10 days.

We accept the following credit cards as payment: Visa and Mastercard A valid driving licence must be presented when collecting the car. Please note: Cash payments are not accepted. We will block a reservation on your credit card at the time of collection. This amount will be held until the car is returned. The amount will not be debited from your account. Settlement will take place 3-4 days after the end of the rental period, at which point the reservation will be cancelled. Please ensure that you have sufficient funds on your card at the time of rental. We may retain all or part of the reservation if you do not return the car with a full tank of fuel, or do not return the car at all. If you return the car damaged, the reservation may be used to cover the excess on the insurance. Tolls are charged in arrears. When passing through other toll stations, our customers must, where possible, drive through the toll station on ‘Manual’ or ‘Coin’ and pay themselves.

The hirer who presents a valid driving licence and the person(s) named in the rental agreement are responsible for the vehicle at all times during the rental period. In the event of damage caused intentionally or through negligence, the lessor may seek recourse against the lessee. The lessee is also financially liable to the lessor for damage caused to the vehicle and for loss due to theft during the rental period. In the event of damage/theft, the lessee is liable for all damage not covered by the insurance.

By agreement. The renter is responsible for removing rubbish and other items from the vehicle. Pick-up and drop-off should normally take place at the same station and during office hours. The vehicle will be cleaned inside and out and checked for damage before pick-up. Upon return, the car must be tidy and free of rubbish inside. For returns outside office hours, the customer is responsible for any damage to the car until it has been checked by one of our employees. The car is delivered with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank. Any missing fuel will be charged at our fixed fuel price and added to the rental fee.

1. The lessee is obliged to use the vehicle in a proper and responsible manner and shall not:

2. Use the vehicle for driving practice or training purposes.

3. Take the vehicle outside the country without the lessor’s consent.

4. Use the vehicle for illegal purposes.

5. Hand over the vehicle to others or allow it to be driven by anyone other than a driver approved by the lessor prior to the commencement of the rental period.

6. Use the vehicle for racing, speed trials, or competitions.

7. Tow other vehicles.

8. Transport more passengers than the vehicle is registered for.

9. Drive the rented vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medication, or other substances.

10. Leave the vehicle unlocked.

11. Load the vehicle beyond the maximum weight for which it is registered.

If the lessee violates any of the above obligations, they shall be liable for all financial consequences, including damages, losses, and additional costs.

12. In the event of a collision, damage caused by running off the road, or similar incidents, or if a technical defect occurs that prevents the lessee from continuing to use the vehicle, the lessee must immediately notify the lessor.
    If the technical defect can be repaired within a period that is reasonable in relation to the lessee’s needs and the rental period, the lessee may not terminate the rental agreement. If the lessee nevertheless does so, they shall be liable for the rental fee until the vehicle is returned to the lessor, with a deduction for the period during which the vehicle was unusable.
    If the rental agreement is terminated by the lessee under such circumstances, the lessee shall also be responsible for any costs incurred by the lessor in arranging the return of the vehicle.
    If the repair cannot be carried out within the aforementioned period, the lessor shall decide whether to provide a replacement vehicle or to consider the rental agreement terminated from the time the lessor received notification from the lessee. In such case, the lessor shall arrange the return transport of the vehicle at their own expense and shall not be liable for any loss or responsibility incurred by the lessee.

I. LESSEE’S LIABILITY

1. During the rental period and until the vehicle has been returned to the lessor, the lessee bears full responsibility for the vehicle and its use as if they were the owner, including parking fines, traffic violations, and similar offenses. The lessee is fully liable for compensation for all damage caused by or to the vehicle (in accordance with the lessor’s applicable Norwegian rental terms).

2. In the event of a collision, damage caused by running off the road, or similar incidents, the lessor or the lessor’s insurance company may seek recourse against the lessee if the lessee has acted with gross negligence or has violated the obligations set out in these rental terms. All damage must be reported immediately to the lessor or their representative. If this is not possible, the incident must be reported to the police. Failure to do so may result in the lessee being held liable for the full extent of the damage.

3. Theft, fire, vandalism, personal injury, and damage to animals must always be reported to both the police and the lessor.

4. The lessee’s deductible is due for immediate payment (in accordance with the applicable Norwegian rental terms).

5. The lessee shall be charged a deductible per damage incident. This applies in particular to damage caused by negligence, including but not limited to:

   • damage caused by shifting cargo, insufficiently secured or improperly packaged loads, as well as burn marks, cuts, stains on upholstery, etc.;

   • damage to tires and rims caused by curb impact;

   • damage resulting from snow sliding off roofs in areas where warning signs are posted;

   • impact damage to the bodywork or undercarriage caused by the use of snow chains;

   • damage resulting from driving in areas that do not physically accommodate the vehicle in terms of height, width, or length;

   • damage resulting from driving off public roads or in areas closed to general traffic without the lessor’s written consent.

Our rental prices include liability insurance. Our excess per claim varies and depends on the type of car and the type of insurance the customer chooses:

Excess reduction must be taken out at the start of the rental period.
